The Changeup

A changeup is a pitch that you would use when the batters are timing your fastball. It looks like a fastball but actually it is going about 20 mph slower. It is very deceptive and if you throw it right, it might drop a little to.

Shown here is a circle change. A from a circle whit your index and thumb fingers and the wrest of your hand smothers the ball. You cant change your arm speed when throwing this pitch because it wont be as effective.

Johan Santana has by far the best changeup in the game. His fastball goes about 95 mph and his changeup goes about 73mph. Changing speed slike that is tough to deal with.
